NPP in crunch meeting over Osafo Marfo's 'tribal comments'

Starr News can confirm that the leadership of the New Patriotic Party is locked up in a crunch meeting over a leaked tape of one of its founding members.

It follows concerns from political analysts and some NPP bigwigs that the tribal comments by Yaw Osafo Marfo will affect the party’s fortunes in 2016.

He purportedly told some executives of the party that it is unthinkable for Akans who control majority of Ghana’s resources to be ruled by other ethnic groups.

“…You have all the resources, but you have no say in the management of your resources, and that is what is happening. Your development depends on the one who has no resources,” the voice said.

“You can’t say this openly,” he cautioned the Council members but added that they are at liberty to talk about it among Asantes.

The tape was apparently captured at a meeting between the former Finance Minister and the NPP’s Council of Elders in the Eastern region.
