Arboretum hosted 2,500 tourists on Valentine Day

Over 2,500 tourists, mostly Ghanaians, visited the Bunso Arboretum Ecotourism Centre on Valentine Day, to access the canopy walk way, learn about trees and tree species, with a live band in attendance.

Among the tourists were couples, groups on board buses, children with their parents, and few individuals.

The canopy walk way was the centre of attraction, and many of the tourists waited patiently in queues for their turn.

The canopy walk way is the second in the country, and was inaugurated on July 1, last year.

The 210-metre long walk way, has five bridges and it is 35 metres high.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Socrates Asare Frempong, Programmes and Marketing Manager of the Bunso Arboretum Ecotourism, said the management of the facility was expecting a more higher patronage of the facility.

He indicated that subsequent events would be given the needed publicity to ensure better patronage.
