2nd women in banking and finance awards to be held

The 2nd Annual Edition of the prestigious National Women in Banking and Finance Awards is scheduled for February 23, 2015 to recognize female professionals who have distinguished themselves in the field of finance.

Launched in February 2014, the awards are the nation’s first time ever recognition of female finance professionals and is hosted by the quarterly mouthpiece of the National Women in Finance Magazine and seeks to bring important industry news and other relevant market information to these professionals.

A statement signed by Ms Priscilla Nkansah of the National Women in Finance Magazine to the Ghana News Agency said the main aim of the unique annual industry award scheme is to inspire, motivate and coach the current and next generation of women finance professionals to aspire to greater heights of individual and corporate excellence.

It is also to encourage the women to be corporate ambassadors of female economic empowerment for the larger masses of SME sector women, who depend on them to influence the finance industry positively in their favour.

The cross industry Awards focuses on six main sectors of the finance industry namely insurance, banking, accounting, microfinance, investment banking and public finance.

This important platform is an advocacy which seeks to lend support to the call to give space and opportunity to equally competent women to occupy leadership positions in the finance industry.

The highly anticipated 2015 edition, to be held on the evening of Monday 23rd of February 2015, is billed to be attended by family and friends and top corporate executives in the industry.

The event, under the kind sponsorship of Multichoice Ghana, is already revolutionarising the mindset of key players in the finance industry on the proper accordance of respect to women professionals in the banking and finance industry.

The 2014 Awards Edition saw many female financial greats such as Mrs. Pearl Esua-Mensah, Deputy Managing Director of UT Bank, Mrs. Angella Leibel, Deputy Managing Director of Bayport Financial Services, Mrs. Jacquiline Benyi, General Manager Enterprise Life among many others celebrated by their peers and subordinates alike.
