Mr. Nelson Kwao Ahlijah, Board Chairman of the GESRO Cooperative Credit Union, in the Western Region, has said despite the turbulent macroeconomic environment in 2014, the union achieved some phenomenal growth.

He said the union's membership grew by three per cent, while members’ share also saw some 20 per cent improvement.

Giving an overview of the Union’s performance in 2014, Mr. Ahlijah said savings also moved from GH¢9,001, 947.73 to GH¢9,136,366.56 recording about a two per cent increment.

The Union's total assets stood at GH¢10, 466, 77.90, a marginal increase of three per cent, with liquid investment growing by five per cent.

The Board Chairman, however, pointed out that the year under review was very challenging in terms of income generation for the Union.
