Amoateng introduced Nayele to drug business -Twum Boafo reveals

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Freezones Board (GFZB), Kojo Twum Boafo, has given an interesting dimension to the Cocaine Angel’s case, accusing ex-Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkoranza North, Eric Amoateng, an ex-drug convict, as the one who introduced Ruby Adu-Gyamfi aka Nayele Ametefe into the illegal cocaine trade.

The one of a kind politician, who sounded very certain in his pronouncement last Friday, dared the ex-legislature to come out from his hideout in far away Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo Region, and dispute his declaration that he, Amoateng, introduced Ms. Ametefe into the business.

Mr. Twum-Boafo, again branded the largest opposition party, the NPP, as very successful in the cocaine business, adding it is their stock in trade, and so should be left alone to indulge in it; insisting no one can contest them in that business.

He later told The Herald that his friends, who are intelligent officers, have hinted that Ruby and Amoateng were friends as well as business partners.

“The lady, Nayele Ametefe and her lawyer, have claimed that in 2004 it was a politician who introduced her into the cocaine business. Omansofo [referring to the host], I am saying this with authority and quote me anywhere, I am saying it was Eric Amoateng who introduced her into the business.

He was the one who brought her from Kumasi to Accra and introduced her into the business. If Eric Amoateng feels that I am lying, he is in town, he should call you people and deny. I said if Eric Amoateng likes, he should call you and deny, I am the one saying it.

What I am saying is that the NPP should allow us to have some peace, because they are neck deep in the cocaine business. Under NPP’s government, excuse me to say, a cripple boarded a ship overseas and offloaded two tones of cocaine under the watch of army officers and till date, nothing has been heard.”

Mr. Twum-Boafo made this pronouncement last week when he granted an interview to an Accra-based Montie FM to support the NDC’s General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s press conference, reacting to NPP’s earlier one, accusing the NDC and for that matter government of being complicit in the cocaine baroness’ arrest in UK for trafficking 12kilos of cocaine.

Before her conviction by the Isleworth Crown Court in London this month, the Ghanaian/Austrian, revealed that she was introduced into the drug business by people in higher authority in 2004, a statement which blew the minds of members of the two main political parties.

Tracing how the now jailbird Ruby landed in Accra from her base in Kumasi, after her marriage to a rich spare parts dealer, Addae fell apart, Mr. Twum-Boafo, an unrepentant member of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), said it was the former MP, who first brought her to Accra and introduced her to the ever-booming business.

Ms Adu-Gyamfi, through her lawyer in the UK court, revealed that aside being introduced into the dreaded business, she served as an “escort” to politicians, who travelled with her to different parts of the world introducing her to lavish lifestyle.

On December 11, 2005 in the US, Mr. Amoateng, was arrested for trafficking 136 pounds of heroin, valued at over $5 million. He was released on July 30, 2014, after serving a 10-year jail term at CI Moshannon Valley prison in the USA.

Mr. Amoateng has since returned to Ghana with another criminal case, involving the procurement of passport through fraudulent means, hanging around his neck.

Mr. Twum-Boafo, mentioned the arrest of a very popular hotelier, David Anim, who is a well-known NPP member, he owns a very popular hotel called, Le Baron at East Legon for trafficking cocaine to the UK.

Mr. Twum Boafo, tagged the businessman, as “an international drug dealer”, whose properties he felt the state should have seized by now.

“It was recently that another NPP man, David Anim, owner of a guest house called Le Baron was arrested. It was the same David Anim, who donated motorcycles to the NPP that were used for their last campaign. It was his hotel that the NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Addo, was holding his meetings; he was arrested as an international drug dealer.

He was not a local dealer, but an international drug dealer; he is languishing in jail abroad. If you will recall it was this same man, whose motorcycles were alleged to have been stolen by Jake Obetsebi Lamptey. Those motorbikes numbering over one hundred, were provided by that cocaine dealer”, he narrated.

It was the NPP MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, who first revealed that Mr. Anim supplied the party with campaign motorbikes.
