Asiedu Nketia's Press Confab was to disgrace Mahama - John Boadu

There seems to be no closure to the Ruby Nayele Ametefe cocaine saga.

The main political parties in the country; the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) seem to be at each other’s throat as to who was more connected to the cocaine queen.

The NPP started it all after a press conference led by its Communications Director, Nana Akomea indicted the NDC, saying the ruling party cannot exonerate itself from the Nayele Ametefe cocaine scandal.

As expected, the ruling NDC through its General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah popularly known as General Mosquito, also responded through a press conference.

There is still no closure to the issue as the NPP has again responded to the NDC’s General Secretary.

To add his voice to the debate, the National Organiser of the opposition NPP has stated that Asiedu Nketia ‘just wants to embarrass’ President John Dramani Mahama with his utterances because ‘he is not on good terms with him’.

According to John Boadu, the NDC Chief Scribe knew that there will surely be a response to his press conference from the NPP and those responses will bring out various revelations which will dent the image of the President and his office ‘but he intentionally went ahead’.

“It is surprising to hear a General Secretary of a political party talking like this…this woman took cocaine with a street value of …on the blind side of government and security. You will not deal with the shame but you will rather turn around and accuse us. Do we (NPP) work at the Airport? If he based his press conference on what he has heard…we have also heard a number of things… the lady had an affair with Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, Chief Executive of Ghana COCOBOD, and at the same time was also the lover of Ibrahim Mahama. Why hasn’t Asiedu Nketiah responded to these issues?” he queried.

John Boadu, who was speaking in an interview with Nana Yaw Kesse on PEACE FM, added that: “It is clear Asiedu Nketiah wants to create confusion in John Mahama’s administration. Apart from that, he wants to expose the Foreign Minister and the Attorney General…what I was expecting from a General Secretary of a party is to outline the measures being put in place at the Airport to prevent such incidents from re-occurring. Can’t we do anything better for this country?”
