“Leaking Black Stars scouts identity is dangerous” – Damba

Ex-Black Meteors goalkeeper’s trainer, Abukari Damba, has criticized the sports media for leaking the identity of Black Stars scouts contracted by the Ghana FA ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to a story published by sports media platforms, ex-Hearts of Oak trainer Shaibu Tanko and ex-Black Stars players CK Akunnor and Augustine Ahinful have both been appointed to scout on Ghana’s AFCON 2015 group opponents.

“It’s a dangerous thing to do because they are spies hired to go and spy on Ghana’s opponents to help the Head Coach (Avram Grant) as to how to strategize to play against them,” Damba told DailySoccerGhana.com.

“So they will not be welcomed as far as those countries (Senegal, South Africa and Algeria) are concerned; so it’s not a very healthy thing for the sports media to expose them to the public and the dangers of the world,” he added.

The scouts will watch the friendly matches of Ghana’s group opponents Senegal, South Africa and Algeria, and file a technical report to Head Coach Avram Grant before January 15th.
