Carlisle United to discuss Asamoah’s future

Carlisle United will discuss the fate of Ghanaian striker Derek Asamoah and three others as they prepare for next Saturday’s trip to Newport.

The other trio are Kyle Dempsey, Connor Brown and Tom Anderson. Midfielder Dempsey is thought to have agreed a new deal but is yet to put pen to paper. Asamoah’s short-term contract, meanwhile, is due to run out after the Newport game. And the loan deals of defenders Brown and Anderson also expire after the trip to Wales.

“We’ve had a short period of time when all the focus has been on games. Contract issues will be addressed in the early part of this week when we have a clearer mind,” manager Keith Curle told the club's official website.

“They’re all things that need to be dealt with. With a clear head, we will sit down and strategise where we go from here.

“There are other things that need to happen, players that aren’t getting game-time that we will be looking to get game-time. If that means elsewhere, so be it,” Curle stated.
