Avram Grant assures local players of Black Stars chance

Ghana coach, Avram Grant says he will not hesitate to draft any qualified player from the Ghana Premier League into the Black Stars.

The 59-year-old has not been able to watch any local game since his appointment due to a court case which delayed the start of the 2014/2015 FCP Premier League.

The four-month league delay was obviously the reason behind the exclusion of any local outfield player from the provisional Afcon squad which has two goalkeepers from the local league.

But Grant says he will make the scouting of local players one of his priorities during his stint as Ghana coach.

“I will be [in Ghana] to watch the local league a lot. I want to see them, so I will scout in the local league a lot and those who deserve a chance will have it.

“I will be very happy to see players that I think will help the national team. I also want to contribute to the development of the game here,” he told fifa.com

Grant also added that his philosophy is to attack and defend all together.
