Ex-convict now turned preacher, George Adu Bonsu, popularly known as Rev. Benjilo, has said the daily use of narcotic drugs in most prisons across the country is worrying.

According to him, prison officers must be questioned as to how the drugs are illegally served to inmates for usage.

“The usage of weed and coke in prison is something we must all fight against. This is worrying. It rather destroys the inmates. Even some innocent ones are forced to use the drugs by their senior inmates,” he said.

Rev. Benjilo was discussing the real cause of the death of Chief Executive of EXOPA modeling agency, Ibrahim Sima, and how poorly jailbirds are treated whiles serving their term.

Speaking on OKAY FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme, Rev. Benjilo prayed government will take precautions to fight narcotics in prison since the practice is unlawful outside prison.

To him, the use of narcotics leads to same-sex encounters in prisons.

“Inmates get gaga after the use of drugs and have sex with their male partners. This is evil,” he said.
