Dead Exopa boss’ family accuses police, prisons officials of negligence

The family of the deceased Exopa boss, Sima Ibrahim is accusing the official the prisons and police service of negligence leading to his death.

According to them, the circumstances leading to the ex-model’s death is mysterious and baffling.

Ibrahim Sima died Thursday night at the Police Hospital, where he was rushed to after suffering injuries in a football game.

Prior to his death, Sima had complained of a headache.

Speaking to STARR NEWS son of the deceased Abu Ibrahim said his late father was not given the needed care by the hospital authorities.

“ That night he was sick, he was taken to the infirmary at the Nsawam and he still wasn’t well, so I’m told they had to carry him to the police hospital and the car to carry him wasn’t around so they had to wait till it returned,” Ibrahim lamented.

He added: “And when they got to the Police hospital, they said there was no bed so the Doctor couldn’t attend to him on time,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, authorities of the Police hospital say the necessary arrangements are being made to ensure that Ibrahim’s body is released to the family for possible burial today.

`The Exopa Chief Executive Officer was sentenced to 15 years in jail by an Accra Fast Track High Court in September 2011 for possessing and attempting to export 4.9 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in four tubers of yam.
