Mining Company Assures Community Of Support

Management of Remwof mining company at Akyem-Juaso in the fanteakwa south constituency of the eastern region have pledged to abide by laws governing their operations at all times in order not to have any effect on the community in which they operate. This was made known by the managing director of the company, Nana Amaning when the district chief executive, honourable Abass Fuseini and some leaders of Akyem Saaman visited the company to access their operations. There has earlier been accusations from residents of Akyem Saaman that operations of the company has polluted their water body so the entourage were at the place to have first hand information and also see whether the allegations are something to go by.
Nana Amaning responding to the allegations stated clearly that there is no way the company will go against the laws set up by the various regulatory bodies in the mining industry. He said his outfit will will always do the right thing in order not to let their activities have any effect on the community.
Nana Amaning however assured the people in the community within their operational areas that they would always consult them at all times in order to strengthen the relationship that exists between them.
" We are also aware of our coperate social responsibility and promise to do our best to oblige it in good faith. So i therefore appeal to the people to also contact management whenever they have doubts on their operations" Nana added.
The committee chairman of Akyem Juaso, Nana Kofi Ohemeng blamed galamsey operations as cause to pollution of water bodies in the area and has also challenged the public to stop accusing the company.
The district chief executive, hon. Abass Fuseini on his part called on all stakeholders in the area to come together and fight the activities of galamsey which has shadowed the good work of certified mining companies.
