Kwadwo Asamoah eyes early return after surgery

Injured Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah is aiming at a swift return to action after deciding to bring forward his surgery.

The 25-year-old Ghana international will go under the knife on Tuesday in Barcelona to correct his problematic knee injury.

The midfielder suffered the injury during Juventus’ 3-2 win over Olympiacos on 4 November and aggravated it when he played through the pain barrier against Empoli.

“We wanted to wait at least another week, but then the club decided to bring forward the timing and so on Tuesday we will fly to Barcelona,” Asamoah’s agent Claudio Vagheggi has told Tuttomercatoweb.com

“Recovery period? We wait for the operation, then we will better understand what the situation is.

“What I can say is that, knowing him, he will work to his maximum to return stronger than before and perhaps ahead of what will be the estimated recovery time.”
