Ghana to beef up squad ahead of 2015 AFCON

If stand-in coach Maxwell Konadu’s remarks are anything to go by, then the Black Stars have not shut the doors on new entrants.

According to the trainer, Ghana had to do scouting to get young and talented players to join the team ahead of the AFCON.

Coach Konadu hinted that the scouting would be done both local and abroad, but he did not mention specific names.

Addressing newsmen after the Ghana/Togo contest, he said it was necessary that new players were brought in to beef up the squad.

Coach Konadu did not also mention the exact positions in the Black Stars that need strengthening.

The former Kotoko coach guided the Black Stars to qualify to next year’s AFCON.

Already, reports making the rounds indicate that some key players of the Black Stars want him to lead the party to AFCON.

Coach Konadu commended the Tamale fans for their support which helped Ghana to beat Togo 3-1.
