Tawiah-Boateng elected NDC E/R chair

Mr Bismark Tawiah- Boateng, former Eastern Regional Organiser of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been elected the new Regional Chairman of the party.

He polled 129 votes to beat his competitors to win the position at the regional conference of the party which was organized at Adoagyiri, near Nsawam.

Samuel Kweku Agyei was elected Vice Chairman, Mark Olive Kevor, Secretary, Abudu Sampson Pata, Treasurer and Ransford Owusu Boakye, Organiser.

Other executives elected include, Francis Annor –Dompreh, Deputy Secretary, Appaw Haruna Wiredu, Youth Organiser, Baba Jamal, Propaganda Secretary and Emmanuel Mintah, Deputy Treasurer.

In his maiden address, Tawiah-Boateng invited all those who contested the election and lost to join the elected executives to embark on house to house campaign to “drive the elephant “further into the bush at the 2016 elections”.

The Regional Minister, Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere congratulated the delegates for conducting a peaceful elections devoid of friction.

He urged the supporters of the party not to go to bed but to hit the road and moved from house to house and go to the remotest parts of the region and the villages to campaign for the party to win the 2016 elections.

At a party conference organized earlier in the week for the youth and women branches of the party at Akyem Oda, incumbent Regional Women Organiser, Ms Evelyn Korang, retained her position with 41 votes as against her contender, Mrs Stella Adu Obeng who polled 27.

Ms Catherine Ayaakwa and Hajia Salamatu Abu were both elected as Deputy Regional Women Organisers.

Ms Benedicta Lassi and Mr David Dakodzi were elected Regional Deputy Youth Organisers.
