Suncity set to roll tomorrow

SUNCITY a television series set in a university environment and which picks its stories from activities and occurences on the university campuses is ready for telecast on Ghana Television from tomorrow.

According to the producers Deltrac Media, all is set for the series to roll. ?We have ten episodes on different aspects of university life ready and we assure viewers of quality presentations on GTV for as long as we can.? Shot on locations at the University of Ghana, Legon and the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region, the series has for its theme song a special composition by Amandzeba Nat Brew and a cast that includes both new and seasoned actors.

The character profile include Ekow Smith-Asante as Percy Osei Bonsu a third year computer science student and a playboy, Nawela Mohammed (Aaron Annan Yeboah), a political science major and a prince from the Northern Region of Ghana well read and sharp; Jaclyn Kusi (Herty Adu-Twumwaa), a second year social science student, who makes it her business to know everybody?s business and Sharon Jones (Suzzy Malaika Williams), a second year English student who spends all her time reading Ebony, Vanity Fair and worshipping her body.

Others in the series are; Leroy King Jnr. (Van Vicker) a half caste final year fine art (Painting) student born and lived in the U.S. till 18; Godfred Ayengo (Gavivina Tamakloe) a former cashier of a bank who is in the university to enhance his promotion; Kwadjo Amponsah (Prince Modashiru Olani) a medical student from a polygamous family; Ewurasi Brookman-Andah (Claudia Aklibosu) a second year English student whose parents are prominent diplomats based in Geneva and globetrots a lot and Jonathan Dzeble (Ekow Bissiw Jones) second year mechanical engineering student with aspirations to enter MIT on scholarship to do his masters.

The rest are; Nichola Blankson (Jane Heidi Aklamanu), a third year pharmacy student and treasurer of the Scripture Union on campus; Sylvester Aggrey (Albert Jackson Davies), a lecturer who had just returned from the UK; Mr. Okpoti Aryee (Kojo Dadson), an old hand, who had been in the university for over twenty years; Miss Brew (Efua Adum-Atta), a spinster, 40-years old who is stickler for time and protocol; Nii Noi (Ekow Blankson), a lecturer who brooks no nonsense and who is on the series courtesy of GBL his employers; Santoba (Eric Agyapong), the ?Chief? handyman on campus and doyen of Campus gossip and Dr. Ephson a disciplinarian loved by all the students.

Suncity which promises to be a hit, is sponsored by Spacefon, Ghana Commercial Bank, Ghana Breweries and Kingdom Books.
