400 Bags of cement missing at Wa Polytechnic

Tension is mounting on the campus of Wa Polytechnic as students and alumni of the school are on collision course with the rector of the school Professor Aflapkui whose tenure as a rector is said to have expired together with the board members of the school. The confusion is as a result of the exposure of shady deals the rector of the school has involved himself in.

The furore began when it came out clearly that the rector had diverted four hundred bags of cement donated to the school by GHACEM meant for some development projects in the school. A memo sighted by this writer addressed to the Polytechnic governing council’s chairman issued from the registrar’s office said “We wish to draw council’s attention to the issue of the 400 hundred bags of cement donated to the polytechnic by GHANACEM Limited”. The rector is said to have diverted the 400 cements bags to an unknown destination.

The Wa Polytechnic is polarized from the governing council down to the ordinary student of the school. This writer came across cement donation foundation documents issued by GHACEM limited which clearly stated that the 400 bags of cement have been taken delivery of by the Polytechnic.

The rector admitted picking the four hundred bags of cement but said he handed over the said four hundred bags of cement to a certain contractor working on a GETFUND project on the campus of the school. According sources it is very difficult if not impossible for the establishment of the whereabouts of the four hundred bags of cement donated by GHACEM to Wa Polytechnic.
