Mahama running away from Ghana’s problems – Agyepong

General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has accused President John Dramani Mahama of negligence in solving the challenges plaguing the country.

He insinuates that the president’s travels are calculated to steer him clear of the problems in Ghana.

“He is running away from the problems especially in light of what the unions are saying.”

President Mahama is in the Vatican City on an official visit. He travelled there after similar trips to UK, Denmark and Norway last month. Between those official visits, President Mahama was in Burkina Faso and Nigeria for other regional businesses.

Joining the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) in its demonstration on Wednesday, Mr Agyepong said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government led by President Mahama is battling misplaced priority.

“They were put in office to do a job, to solve our problems,” he pointed out to our reporter Narkwor Kwabla.

Mr Agyepong raised fears the president has lost the strength to face the country's problems as “he is nowhere to be found.”

“He is not leading. He has to lead. He has to sit up and solve the problems of this country.”
