CAF is a competent body – Nyantakyi

The President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, has debunked claims that there is a grand conspiracy by the Confederations of African Football (Caf) to ban Ghana from all age competitions as a result of the recent MRI protest filed by the Cameroonian Football Federation against one Ghanaian player in the current U-17 squad.

During a Press Conference organized by the FA on Friday, 7th November 2014, Nyantakyi responded to claims that some Executive Committee members of the FA have indicated that there is a conspiracy by the football governing body in Africa (CAF) to get Ghana out of the upcoming competition to be played next year in Namibia.

“Well I don’t know who said that but whoever made that statement must have said it in his personal capacity and not the stance of the GFA Executive Committee. The Executive Committee has not taken any position that there is any grand conspiracy by CAF. I don’t even see that to be possible.” “I see CAF as a very transparent body. I am a member of the CAF Executive Committee and I know the goings on there and I don’t think that any individual within CAF can manipulate the system to his advantage”, Mr. Nyantakyi added.

He, however, assured Ghanaians that there is no cause for alarm and that there will surely be justice in the current MRI issue.
