Kwarasey rejects invitation for Uganda, Togo qualifiers

Goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey has turned down an invitation to feature in Ghana’s final double 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this month, Africanfootball.com has exclusively reported.

Sources have told Africanfootball.com that the out-of-contract Stromsgodset player has told stopgap coach Maxwell Konadu he wants to concentrate on finding a new club.

Kwarasey was invited for last month’s back-to-back games against Guinea but withdrew from the squad claiming he had picked up an injury.

But few days after the international break he returned to action for Stromsgodset which means he had other reasons for turning down the first invitation.

The 27-year-old became available on a free transfer after Norwegian league ended last Sunday and helped his side to finish fourth.

Kwarasey’s international career has been in doubt ever since he launched a tirade at goalkeepers’ trainer Nassamu Yakubu after the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

He questioned Yakubu’s integrity and accused him of favouring Fatau Dauda.
