Awal Mohammed nears Maritzburg United exit

Absa Premiership side Maritzburg United are working hard to renew the contract of Awal Mohammed whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Awal has hit a reach vein form in recent times and has forced himself into the starting line-up of the Black Stars.

The centre-back has attracted interest from a host of club across Europe but coach Komphela’s side are looking to tie him down to a long term.

“We are aware that Awal’s contract will need this summer but we are still locked in negotiation and will try as much as possible to find what is best for the team and that of the player,” a club source told Soccer Laduma.

“He has been good since he got here and we will continue to see what the development brings.”
