'League delay will affect the national teams'

Sammy Kuffour has mentioned that he would want both parties in the King Faisal/FA issue to seek amicable solution so as to help the national teams.

The former Bayern Munich and Black Stars defender was not too enthused with the fact that most of the players called up into the senior national team, Black Stars, are foreign players.

“I have said it from day one that this court issue will affect the players who play or want to play in the senior national team, the Black Stars and it is the same thing happening.”

“The teams and their individual players are going to suffer at the end of the day because if they are called into the national teams, they get not only money, but experience, something that cannot be bought but gained through playing matches.”

Now the league is not started, yet national teams assignments are on-going, and do we expect the coaches to call players who are not playing and their league has not even started?

“It’s very serious and I will appeal to the parties involved to look at the broader picture and come out with a form of settlement or solution very soon before it destroys our football here in Ghana.”
