Muntari set for Ghana return; Prepares public apology

Sulley Muntari is set for a sensational return to the Black Stars ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations as the AC Milan star prepares to make a public apology for assaulting a Ghana FA official during the 2014 World Cup.

The 30-year-old will write a formal apology letter to pacify Ghana FA Executive Committee member Moses Armah, who he physically attacked on the eve of Ghana’s final group game at the 2014 World Cup against Portugal.

Muntari’s assault took place in a charged meeting with the Black Stars management committee where the players stated their disappointment in officials for failing to make prompt payment of the $100,000 promised each player as appearance fee.

The former Inter Milan star struck Moses Armah who is also the President of Ghana Premier League club Medeama twice before receiving an equal doze.

Muntari was hours later thrown out of the Ghana camp and has since been slapped with an indefinite suspension from the team alongside Kevin-Prince Boateng, who is reported to have insulted then coach Kwesi Appiah.

The GFA is demanding an unqualified apology from the AC Milan star before his return to the Black Stars is even considered.

The experienced midfielder is now prepared to do the honourable thing by sending in his apology in order to return to the side ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

Muntari’s letter will also seek to apologize once more again to Ghanaians for his poor behavior and also to the GFA.

He is also expected to state his preparedness to submit himself to the code of conduct of the Black Stars and also to assure he will not repeat such a behavior.

The AC Milan star’s father, Alhaji Sulley Muniru has been talking to Ghana FA officials behind the scenes to prepare the grounds for his son’s apology.

The 30-year-old will be welcomed back into the team as his immense leadership and football qualities have been missed by the Black Stars throughout the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.

He will however be only admitted into the side once he proves he is prepared to succumb to the disciplinary code of the team.
