Guinea coach pre-empted his side's defeat?

Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer admits it was always going to be difficult to secure an away result after going 3-1 down against Ghana on Wednesday.

The Syli National pushed the Black Stars all the way but in the end was not enough to go further behind in their pursuit to qualify for next year’s AFCON.

Yattara Ibrahim pulled Guinea level in the 34th minute after Asamoah Gyan had opened the scoring for Ghana 30 minutes earlier in Tamale.

But the determined Black Stars – buoyed by their home fans – scored again through an Andre Ayew spot kick.

And despite Guinea dominating most parts of the second half to earn at least a point in the game, Michel Dussuyer’s side fell short of the finishing required to put away the Black Stars.

They were punished dearly with virtually the last kick of the game through Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.

Coach Dussuyer on conceding defeat says it was always going to be difficult for his side to pull a fast one on Ghana especially when playing at home.

“It was disappointing result but wasn’t a bad performance from my team,” he said.

“We knew it will be difficult for us playing away from home here in Tamale.

“We had some problems in the first half but we did better in the second half.

“We tried to get a second goal but it was difficult for us.”
