Kuuku Dadzie slams Black Stars defense

Ex-Black Queens coach Kuuku Dadzie has criticized the Black Stars ‘rigid’ defensive performances ahead of the country’s reverse fixture of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea on Wednesday.

The Syli Nationale rallied to draw 1-1 with the Ghanaians at their adopted home in Casablanca last Saturday.

Caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu partnered Awal Mohammed and Jonathan Mensah at the back but their partnership failed to shine.

Augsburg new recruit Baba Abdul Rahman was a bundle of nerves as he lacked pace while Harrison Afful simply failed to come to the party.

The country’s total defensive performance has been perceived as abysmal and the former Ghana international is worried about the side’s ‘rigid’ style of play.

“Our defense is a huge problem. They are not flexible at all. They are too rigid for my liking,” he said “In this modern era, you need players who are flexible but we lack that in the team at the moment.

“They need to change their style because our defense can cause us if we don’t do something drastic about it.

Asamoah Gyan opened the scoring for the Black Stars but captain Ibrahima Traore pulled the sensational equalizer.

The two teams will go at each other in the reverse fixture at the Tamale stadium on Wednesday.
