‘G4P’ Forum opens in Kumasi: JM brings Gov't to the People

Government will today begin a public mouthpiece platform where the general public will be given the opportunity to interact with Ministers of State and government officials across the country.

The initiative dubbed Government for the People (G4P) Forum is styled as a public forum that would be held across selected venues across all the regions in Ghana where the general public will be allowed to directly question government officials on national issues.

The forum has been promised to address all the lingering questions over the governance strategy of President Mahama and how it would translate directly to the well-being of the general public.

This, according to government sources will try to dispel some of the erroneous information being deliberately churned out into the public domain by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) agents as they work to make the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration unpopular.

The Republic newspaper is reliably informed that the initiative would extend to the latter part of December this year and is part of President Mahama’s strategy to make his administration more accessible to the general public.

The initiative is also expected to combat corruption because it is designed to allow whistleblowers to inform government officials about injustices happening in their environment first hand through formal and informal interactions before during and after the fora.

Analyst have hinted that the initiative will likely shore up the popularity of the Mahama-led administration of the ruling NDC since it sits very well within the President’s determination to remain transparent and accountable to the people.
