94 On GNPC jollyride to Brazil

Documents sighted by The Chronicle have revealed that Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) sponsored 94 stakeholders and staff to Brazil to watch the global soccer fiesta at the expense of the tax payer.

Among the stakeholders and staff were Ministers and Deputy Ministers of various ministries, Board Chairmen and members of various state institutions, including the GNPC itself, family members (classified as stakeholders), Chief Executive Officers of various state organizations and a Member of Parliament.

The amount involved in this jollyride is still unknown but speculations are rife that the GNPC spent millions of Cedis of the tax payer’s money on the 94 persons it sponsored to Brazil to watch the 2014 World Cup.

The personalities cooled off at four different hotels, such as Best Western and Praia Aram, Cristallo Residencial, all located in the heart of Natal, Brazil.

When the Chief Executive Officer of Litina Travel and Tours (LTT) appeared before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Brazil 2014 World Cup and other matters some few days ago, she boldly told the panel that she won the bid to airlift 90 staff members and stakeholders of the GNPC to Brazil.

However, what she did not tell Ghanaians was that the millions of Cedis involved in the said contract with the GNPC, is a compelling issue which has become of great interest to Ghanaians, whose taxes are used to fund the GNPC.

The additional four passengers on the list of the GNPC remains a mystery, as it is not clear which travel agency airlifted them to Brazil.

Among those who were classified as stakeholders on the jollyride include; – Hon. Emmanuel Amarh-Kofi Buah, Richard Kwame Peprah, Kwesi Ahwoi, Kwamena Ahwoi, Hon. Joe Oteng-Adjei, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, Yaw Akoto, Lionel Vanlare Dosoo, Hon. Ben Dagadu, Albert Twum Boafo, Samuel Ablakwa, Kwabena Acheampong, Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Bashiru Salifu.

The rest are; Francis Nda, Kaku Korsah, Joseph Cudjoe, Moses Asaga, Kwame Bona Siriboe, Hon. Cletus Avoka, Edward A. Bawa, George Andoh,Christopher Desouza, Kwaku Bram-Larbi, Willieson Shamo, DF, Mariam Issaka, Theresa Gyasi Antwi, Richmond Attionu, Awulae Attibrukusu III, Richard Azu Crabbe, Eric Sowah Oddoye, William Mould, Sonny Mould, Mariel Arbenser-Mould, Ghana High Commission and Daniel Amoyaw Addo.

Those classified as staff include; Akwasi Afriyie Tandoh, Lawrence Sam, Bridgette Kermah, Kate Aba Korsah, Henrietta Fabyan, Naa Bortei-Doku, Doreen Ofori Manukure, Jonathan Ato Kobbie, Sam Ledo, Eric Pwadura, Naomi Adashie, Nana Akua Aboagye-Adjei, Alexander Mould, Linda Tamakloe, Edward Appiah-Brafoh, Reggie Lathbridge, Justina Akyeampong, Adwoa Wiafe, Stephen Akrong, Yvonne Ayensu Maikido, Ebenezer Agyemang, Yaw Adu-Gyamfi and Abraham Obeng.

Others were; Abraham Maclean, Albert Fynn-Aiduenu, Alex Prempeh Kwarteng, Andrew K. Onyeche, Clifford Addai-Mensah, Daniel Appiah, Dickson Naawu, Dominic Ponu, Ebenezer Apesegah, Edmund James Asante, Edward Ababio, Edward Kwesi Ohene, Eugenia Nibie Fefoame, Evans Dadzie, Frank Ofori Kuragu, Gabriel Osatey, Henrietta Nkansah, Kwasi Obeng Boadi, Kwesi Nyamekye Ansah, Philip Danquah, Richard Addo-Darko, and Benjamin Asante.

Also included in the staff category were; Robert Oblo, Lucy Akua Nyamaah, Michael Quarm, Osei Afriyie, Paul Gyimah, Louisa Quarcoe, Samuel Bempong, Samuel Opoku Arthur, Augustine Osei-Twum, Philip Blavo, Mercy Anarkwa and Emmanuel Amoasi.

The Chief Executive Officer of the GNPC, Alexander Kofi Mensah Mould, may have appeared before the Justice Dzamefe-chaired Commission either for the first or last time, but there still remains some lingering issues which are of interest to the Ghanaian tax payer.
