CIVIL SERVANTS GRATEFUL

The Civil Servants Association of Ghana, has expressed his appreciation to the government for what it called its sensitivity to the problems of Civil Servants and called for speedy implementation of the Public Sector Wages And Salary Policy without further delay. The Association also commended the Head of the Civil Service Dr.. Robert Dodou for spearheading the reforms initiative within the service. These were contained in an Eight-point resolution at the end of the Associations week-long National Congress at Ho. It was under the theme, "Building the capacity of the Civil Service towards Vision 2020 and attended by more than 200 delegates from all over the country. The resolution called on the Government to effect an upward revision of the Medical Care Facility for Civil Servants in view of the inflationary situation in the country. The resolution, however, expressed the Associations dissatisfaction at what it viewed as the casual attitude of some top civil servants in implementing approval packages for the benefit of civil servants. It also expressed concern about attempts by some few members to undermine the Congress. The Congress elected Alhaji Yakubu Ziblim the Acting National President of the Association, as its National President, with Mr.. G.K. Dzakpasu, the Volta Regional Chairman, as his Vice President. In an acceptance speech, Alhaji Ziblim commended the delegates for the matured manner in which they held deliberations and the elections. He said the immediate task of the National Executive will be to tackle the issue of the separation of Legal Government and Health Workers from the Civil Service. gri
