Black Meteors to begin preparations on 1 Oct.

Black Meteors head coach Malik Jabir will select 23 home-based players to begin camping on 01 October to prepare for the upcoming 2015 CAF U23 Cup qualifiers.

The Bechem United technical director has decided to work with members of the 2013 Ghana U20 team and youngsters born after 1993.

Ghana will face Liberia in the first qualifying round qualifier at a yet to be announced date by the Confederation of African Football.

The Meteors also have an impending assignment against Egypt’s U23 side- a friendly-on 14 October in Cairo.

“I met with the Ghana FA technical directorate and the decision is to work with players from the previous national U20 team and few others abroad who were born after 1993,” Jabir told MTNFootball.com

“We want to ensure that players from the team which won bronze at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey will be graduated to the next stage.

“Our dream is to get a solid team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.”

Ghana must first reach the 2015 CAF U23 finals in DR Congo next December to pick one of the three qualification slots for Africa.
