We Could Have Solved Appearance Fee Issue ... GNPC

AG Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Authority (GNPC) Alexander Kofi Mensah Mould has said that as headline sponsor of the Black Stars the GNPC could have managed the appearance fee saga which rocked the team in Brazil if they had been informed earlier by the FA.
"Kofi couldn't you have done something about the appearance fee issue because here we are talking about brand image and what happened I'm sure might have had a negative effect on the image of the GNPC, "Moses Foh-Amoaning quizzed.
"Yes my lord, we could but we were not approached. In fact, we heard the news in the daily's so there was little that we could do at the time," Mr. Mould told the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
Ghana became most famous in the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup not because the Black Stars won the ultimate prize but due to the way and manner the players halted the entire nation forcing the Presidency to transport over $4m to Brazil in other to settle for players appearance fees and other financial issues.
"Mr. Mould you said GNPC bear the cost of the Black Stars anytime they play an international friendly. So would you be surprise to hear that the GFA take some monies from these friendly matches because they are sanctioned by agents and it's not free?," Justice Senyo Dzamefe asked.
"Absolutely! my lord I would be very surprise," Mr. Alex Mould answered.
"Then please check because I am aware the agents pay money to the FA for these matches. I may be wrong but I'm reliably informed that FIFA international matches are not for free," Justice Dzamefe added.
