uniCredit appoints new CEO

uniCredit Ghana Limited, a leading Savings and Loans Company in Ghana, has appointed Mr. Samuel Sakyi-Hyde as its new Chief Executive Officer effective 1st August, 2014.

Sakyi-Hyde is a banker by profession with over 17 years experience in Financial Services Management, Rural Banking, Credit Risk Management, Domestic Operations, Business Development, Retail and SME Banking, Internal Audit, Treasury Management, Trade Finance and Project Management. He holds an Executive MBA in International Business.

Until his appointment, Sakyi-Hyde was the Head of Branch Networks at uniBank. He had previously headed SME Banking for five years, during which time the SME Unit grew into a full department. He also introduced several initiatives such as mass marketing exercises, mass recoveries and monthly performance reviews which stimulated the growth and value of the Bank’s SME customer base and credit portfolio.

Sakyi-Hyde had worked with Ga Rural Bank Limited, Amalbank Ghana Limited (now Bank of Africa), where he occupied various managerial positions.

Sakyi-Hyde is also the architect of the ‘New Dawn’ strategy that transformed uniBank’s Branch Network Structure, as well as its branch sales and service activities during his tenure as Head, Branch Network. With a focus on increasing branch efficiency and profitability, he championed an immense increase in low-cost deposit mobilization through dynamic sales, relationship management and Quality Service Delivery.

Sakyi-Hyde also oversaw an unparalleled branch expansion exercise that increased uniBank’s branches from twenty-one (21) to thirty (30) nationwide within nine months.

He is a Pastor at the Harvest Chapel International Ministries in Accra and an adjunct lecturer in one of the leading private universities in Ghana. He is married with three children.
