Ablakwa condemns Gyan assault on journalist

Deputy Minister in charge of tertiary education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has described as “unjustifiable”, the attack on state-owned Daily Graphic Reporter Daniel Kenu.

“An attack on a journalist or any human being for that matter is totally unjustifiable”, Ablakwa said on social media Tuesday.

Kenu was attacked last Friday by Baffour Gyan, big brother of Black Stars’ skipper Asamoah Gyan, together with a gang of muscled men, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, as he went for his accreditation to cover the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier game between Ghana’s senior national team and the Cranes of Uganda.

Gyan’s assault was spurred by a question the journalist asked the Stars’ skipper at a press conference on Wednesday about rumours that he sacrificed his friend and fellow celebrity, Castro, for spiritual purposes.

The hiplife Musician went missing in June, together with female companion, Janet Bandu, in a Jet Ski accident while they holidayed in Ada with Asamoah Gyan and other celebrities. The two have still not been found.
