Alan fighting a losing battle - Kofi Jumah

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has advised Alan Kyeremanten to withdraw from the party’s flagbearership race.

According to him, it was evident that the NPP faithful had settled on Nana Akufo-Addo owing to the outcome of the party’s recent polls.

Nana Akufo-Addo polled 80.78 percent of votes during the NPP’s Special Delegates Congress held across the country, with Alan Kyeremanteng, his closest contender, garnering 7.98 percent.

Mr. Jumah, a former ardent supporter of Alan Kyeremanten, said the astute politician should accept that the party’s members prefer Nana Akufo-Addo as flagbearer.

The outspoken politician told Hello FM that if he meets Alan Kyeremanten in the coming days he would admonish him to throw in the towel and allow Nana to go.” It is only a miracle, which can help Alan Kyeremanten to defeat Nana Akufo-Addo in the October 18 elections, Mr. Jumah said.

He described Alan Kyeremanten as a nice gentleman and an astute politician, adding that “Alan is my brother, he has the potential but this is not his time, it is Nana Akufo-Addo’s time.”

If Alan Kyeremanten listens to my good counsel and strategizes well, then definitely in the near future he would have the chance to lead the party as presidential candidate, Mr. Jumah said.
