Atwima-Nwabiagya NDC elects new officers

Mr James Adu-Tutu, 60, has been elected by the Atwima-Nwabiagya Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the party’s new Chairman.

He polled 148 votes to beat off the challenge by the incumbent, Daniel Dzamashie, and two others, Samuel Amankwa Yeboah and Thomas Dwomo Boateng, who received 115, 125 and 51 votes, respectively.

Other officers elected included Abu Sadik, Vice Chairman, Mallam Ali Mohammed, Secretary, Wisdom Osei Boamah, Organizer, Kennedy Yiadom Boakye, Treasurer, Yaa Boahemaa Agyemang, Women’s Organizer, Benjamin Tawiah Asare, Youth Organizer, and Abdulai Bekoe, Propaganda Secretary.

This was at the party’s delegates conference held at Abuakwa and supervised by the District Electoral Officer, Madam Fati Kantom.

Addressing the delegates, Ms Ama Sarpomaa, the Ashanti Regional Women’s Organizer, asked them to put the elections behind them and pull together to return the NDC to power in 2016.

They should maintain an impregnable front, accept to work hard and make the needed sacrifices to ensure resounding victory.

Mr Adu-Tutu pledged not to disappoint, saying, they were motivated to do everything to substantially increase the party’s share of votes in the area.

Nana Asare Bediako, the District Chief Executive (DCE), expressed joy at the peaceful conduct of the polls.
