I haven’t been re-arrested - Kessben

Chief Executive Officer of the Kessben group of companies has denied reports of his re-arrest.

No sooner had an Accra circuit Court cleared Kwabena Kesse of money laundering charges then reports of his re-arrest emerged.

One of his Lawyers, Carl Adongo, however, denied the report to StarrFMonline.com.

Kesse himself later debunked the report on private FM station, Asempa, which first broke the story of his purported re-arrest.

“Nobody has rearrested me”, he said, asking: “On what charge?”

He accused the media of “muddying the waters”, complaining: “I’m not happy for hearing this on air. Some of these things are not helping me. It can create problems. It has really disturbed me”.

Kesse was accused of allegedly laundering $127 million within 14 months.

He was arrested on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, together with three officials of Stanbic Bank, for allegedly facilitating the alleged financial crime.

He was released from Police custody on a Gh¢350 million bail bond with four sureties - two of which were justified.

On the orders of Attorney General Marrietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, the court on Wednesday dropped the charges against Kesse for want of evidence.
