Ebola scare: KNUST suspends re-opening

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced an indefinite suspension of reopening of the 2014/2015 academic year of the university.

A statement signed by the Registrar, Kobby Yebo-Okrah, on Monday, August 11 said: “The suspension is to enable the University to prepare adequately for reopening in view of the University Teachers’ Association of Ghana (UTAG) Industrial Action and the Ebola Scare in the West Africa Region.”

“Students are advised to hold themselves in readiness for the new dates which may come at short notice,” the statement added.

It called for the cooperation of all members of the University’s community.

KNUST, popularly called 'Tech', becomes the second public institution after University of Cape Coast (UCC) to postpone reopening date.
