Veep charges military officers to be morally responsible

Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has charged 66 senior officers of the Ghana Armed Forces to be morally responsible in the discharge of their duties.

“You have a moral responsibility to use the skills and the values you have acquired here to be an example to whatever environment you find yourself in,” Mr Amissah-Arthur stated on Friday, August 8, when he joined the graduation ceremony of the Senior Officers Course 35 at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Accra.

The 66 officers who graduated underwent training in Defence and International Relations, Defence and Conflict Management and Governance and Leadership.

They consist of 42 Ghanaians and officers from Nigeria, Rwanda, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Togo, Malawi and Zambia.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur promised that government will continue to resource the College “to develop more attractive modules for the security as well as for civilian agencies."

Commandant of the College Air Vice Marshall Issifu Sakib Kadri charged the graduands to uphold professionalism in the discharged of their duties.

He also hinted of the introduction of new courses including a weekend course in Master of Science in Defence and International Politics for the general public from next year.
