Fatau Dauda likely to leave Orlando Pirates

Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is looking increasingly likely to leave Orlando Pirates as he presses on with his desire to be his country’s number one.
Dauda, who played two impressive games for the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, has attracted interest from North Africa and the Middle East.
Pirates have already been made aware of the interest and with the Ghana national team making it known to him that for him to remain relevant in the national team he needs to start playing regular club football, Pirates must now make the final call on the 29-year-old.
Dauda spent the past season rotating between the bench and the stands, starting a mere two games as he played a supporting role to Senzo Meyiwa, who started the other 51 games during the Buccaneers’ marathon campaign.
Pirates have already taken the precautionary measure of snapping up Philani Zikalala from AmaZulu as cover just in case Dauda eventually leaves, while plans to loan out upcoming goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo have cancelled out.
Dauda is due to report back to Pirates from his World Cup-enforced extended break this weekend.
