Yamin not matured to be minister - Kuranchie

The Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper, Ken Kuranchie has said that the immediate past Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Joseph Yamin is not fit to hold any Ministerial position in the country.

According to him, President John Mahama’s decision to reassign Joseph Yamin as the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister is questionable since the former Deputy Sports Minster “lacks maturity” to hold such an office.

He described Joseph Yamin’s pronouncement that government airlifted $3m cash to settle the appearance fees of irate Black Stars who almost boycotted their trip to Brasilia to face Portugal in their final group game in the on-going FIFA World Cup as “childish” and “shameless” from a Minster.

Though Yamin and his boss Elvis Afriyie Ankrah have been reassigned from the Sports Ministry after the Black Stars failed to progress to the round of 16 in the World Cup, Ken Kuranchie insists that both [Elvis and Yamin must be probed.

Speaking on Madina-based Oman FM, the newspaper Editor called on President Mahama to “chop off” the duo from his administration if he really wants to fight corruption.

“Yamin lacks maturity to hold any position as a Minster. He has proven that at the Sports Ministry. President Mahama shouldn’t have reassigned him again,” he said.
