Young patriots appeal to Kyerematen to dissolve GAKE

The young patriots is passionately appealing to Mr. Alan Kyerematen to as soon as possible disband the Get Alan Kyerematen Elected (GAKE) dissolved to let his official campaign team as well as spokespersons do his campaign for him in his effort to become the Presidential candidate of the NPP in the upcoming flag bearer elections.

Mr. Alan Kyerematen is a nice gentleman who has a good campaign team, a calm and deep spokesperson who are capable of doing a good campaign for him, however the continues issuing of statements, mostly negative and insulting of Nana Addo by GAKE only end up giving a false impression that Mr. Kyerematen is supporting the content of what they put out there and that these statements actually emanate from him. This negative portrayal of both Alan and Nana is not doing both persons any good and will come back to hunt the NPP during the 2016 elections and beyond in terms of negative publicity.

Young Patriots further state that the existence of GAKE is a direct insult and disrespect of the party chairman Mr. Paul Afoko and the General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, who have had course to call on all the various so called ‘’campaign groups’’ to be dissolved as they are unconstitutional, and that their continues mudslinging of party elders and leaders is tarnishing the image of the party.

It is gratifying to note that Crusaders for Nana (CONAA) has since been dissolved as a result of that call by the chairman and general secretary, we ask GAKE for the sake of party unity to do same. Whatever grievances they have should be channeled to the party structures for redress.

The NPP continues bantering in the media is rapidly eroding public confidence in us as a party and if this attitude especially from party leaders and elders who should know better continues, we should be preparing for another four years in opposition.

No one but the NDC is a beneficiary of the current media war going on in the NPP. Whoever comes out as the Presidential candidate of the NPP for 2016 will be badly bruised by the current happenings, creating a mountain for us to climb during the campaign.

We want to use this opportunity to call for a truce within the party. We also wish to call on all party elders and leaders, especially President Kufuor, Nana Addo, Alan Kyerematen and all other aspirants, to first and foremost iron out any differences that they may have behind closed doors. Secondly all their supporters should be called to order but most importantly, the executives of the party should be bold and crack the whip as they have indicated in the past if any member or members’ actions bring the name of the party into disrepute.
