Free education for traders

Traders in Ghana are set to benefit from Free Business Finance Management and Customer Service Training by Liberated Minds International -LiMI.

Speaking at the Launch of the Program, Hon. Samuel Adjei Boateng, The Executive Director of the Organization indicated that it was about time greater focus is placed on the small and medium scale businesses because it represent a major source of livelihood majority of the population.

Dubbed ‘Nimdee Hia, literary translated; Knowledge is Necessary, the one day Capacity Building on Financial Management and Customer Care Program, seeks to train Traders and Small Business owners on the rudiments of Finance Management, maximizing profit and Satisfying and Retaining Customers despite the presence and threats posed by competitors.

According Him, due to the fact that majority of traders and small business owners in Ghana usually lack formal education on Financial Management, businesses with huge prospect end up collapsing due to mismanagement.

“It is about time as a country we focus making the most out of the Small Scale Sector because the is the real engine of the private sector,

He noted that despite representing the biggest employer in the country, they are usually the least considered when policies are being formulated.

He called on government to learn from the examples of countries like Brazil, China, Malaysia and others who have turned fortunes around just by providing a conducive working environment and policies that assisted small businesses.

He revealed that the first phase of the training, which is set to be piloted through the various electoral areas, would begin in the Nii Okaiman West Electoral Area where Hon. Samuel Owusu Adjei serves as the Assembly Member on the 1st of July 2014.

He called Corporate Ghana to respond favorably to the call to sponsor the program, especially those in the financial organizations.

According to him, sponsors will be given the platform to introduce their service to the trainees.
