NASPA donate learning materials to schools

The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) in the Hohoe Municipality has urged the Junior High Schools to take their studies seriously. NASPA advised the students to put in much effort in their studies especially in the areas of Mathematics, Science and English.
The Association said this during its special quiz competition organised for some selected Junior High Schools last week Friday. The Association dubbed the event as “Naspa Special Quiz”. NASPA in its effort to help improve the academic performance of the pupils in the municipal organised this quiz for the schools.
The competition formed part of the NASPA activities for the Junior High Schools and also to prepare the final year students for their exams.
However, the aim of the quiz competition was to complement the efforts of the full-time teachers of the various Junior High Schools in the municipal and also to refresh and revise some of the important topics with the students especially the candidates who are set to write their final exams this week.
The Association made it clear to the students that the standard of education in the region has falling drastically hence it’s calling on all stakeholders including the students as they prepare for their internal and external education.
Moreover, the quiz competition saw schools like the Hohoe M. A Newtown J.H.S, Gbi-Kpeme J.H.S, Holy Rosary J.H.S, Gbi-Atabu J.H.S, E.P J.H.S and St. Teresa Girls’ J.H.S.
NASPA, in its quest to help improve upon the various core-subjects, concentrated the questions on Mathematics, Science and English. The competition went on for three rounds.
After all the rounds, the Hohoe M.A Newtown J.H.S scored 84 points, the Holy Rosary J.H.S scored 79 points and Gbi-Kpeme J.H.S also scored 74 points. So, the Hohoe M.A Newtown J.H.S emerged as the overall winner in the quiz competition.
Prizes like novels, textbooks, mathematical sets, indomie and other stationeries were awarded to the 18 contestants and also to the various participated schools. But, NASPA thought it wise and gave the first school a desktop computer which would also help the students to improve on their ICT skills.
The president of the association, Gandedzi Frank Nerry, therefore, entreated the students to avail themselves to academic exercises such as quiz, debates and other intellectual discourses to avoid distractions that might drift them away from their future.
The quiz competition ended successfully at the end of the day. In the long run, the association was able to put some smiles on the faces of the pupils. However, the spectacular quiz competition was powered by NASPA and also was proudly sponsored by; Indomie, Coca-Cola, Daphil book shop, Galaxy Hotel, Geduld Hotel, Wofa Kumi Enterprise, Galaxy filling station, Obama Gardens etc. all in Hohoe.
