Kwesi Pratt lauds Ghana and Iran relationship

Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr, the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, has lauded Ghana and Iran for the long-standing cordial relationship that exists between them.

He said through the relationship, positive results had been achieved over the years and that there was the need to make it more outstanding.

“The relationship between Ghana and Iran is growing stronger and so there is the need for both nations to continue to appreciate and make it worthwhile for generations to come," he said.

Mr Pratt made the remarks on Tuesday when he addressed a section of the Muslim community at the 25thAnniversary of the death of Ayatolla Ruholla Khomeini.

The anniversary celebration, which was organised by the Islamic Peace and Security of Ghana, aimed at honoring the exemplary life of Sheik Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam.

Mr Pratt described Sheik Sharubutu as a shining example for Muslim leaders in the country and Africa at large.

He stated that Sheik Sharubutu is a man of peace, integrity, unifier and a person who shares his wealth with the poor and less privileged.

Sheik said God created human beings to co-operate with each other and not to fight with one another.

He said Iran had shown so much commitment to the development of Ghana and every year gives scholarship to Ghanaian Muslim students and assisted in the establishment of the Islamic University College in Accra.

Mr Mohammed Suleiman, the Iranian Ambassador, urged Ghanaians to continue to live in peace as a nation.
