Sea weeds invade Western region; halt fishing activity

Strange weeds have invaded huge swathes of the Sea in the Western region causing nuisance to fishermen and coastal residents.

Fishermen, according to XYZ News’ Regional Correspondent, Emmanuel Ohene Gyan, have been immobilised for the past two weeks due to the weed invasion.

They fear the weeds are poisonous and therefore afraid to venture into the Sea to fish.

The Locals also complain of intense stench emanating from the weeds and say strange worms are also breeding amongst the weeds.

Some of the Locals are putting the situation down to the oil and gas industry in the region.
