IT security product launched for banking industry

Pfortner, an equipment manufacturer in partnership with NetSolution Ghana and Tri-continental, UK, have launched an IT security and high availability device for the banking sector.

Mr Aubrey Swanepoel, Managing Director of Pfortner, said the product was to increase network security in the Banking industry to improve on productivity. Mr Swanepoel, speaking at the launch of the product in Accra on Wednesday, said the product would also support governments to deploy service to the rural areas.

He said their solution to the challenge of secure connectivity had been articulately developed around the needs of their clientele. He said the products and services developed allow partners and clientele to build a communications solution that's robust in design and focused on security.

We have developed this tough system so that our clientele can focus on their business, being assured that connectivity and security is taken care of, he added. Mr Swanepoel said their unique secure redundant connectivity offering save their clientele time and money but mostly it simplifies their business.

He said any time their clients had to switch a transaction or connect another ATM or deploy another branch in the most remote location, they would ensure that they could do so securely, simply and quickly.

Dr Ahmed Rashard, Chief Executive Officer of NetSolution, Ghana, said the partnership would provide access and support to a unique solution that significantly bolstered the defences of financial institutions.

He said the company was committed to bring excellence in providing sale and after-sale support to the Pfortner solutions. We have invested and will continue to invest significant resources to development of our sales and technical teams as we seek to partner IT infrastructure, he added.

He said the company would ensure the availability of spares for the solution and the requisite systems and processes all geared towards the timely resolution of any issues that might rise.

He said the product would mitigate security issues with the ATM platform. Mr Gary Carroll, Strategy and Business Development Executive, Tri-continental Limited said top technologies that would transform business include cloud computing, big data analytic, mobile and social media.
