Zakkour must critcise Hearts on facts – Mortagbe

Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak Neil Armstrong Mortagbe says the club’s former CEO Harry Zakkour should base his comments on facts rather than conjecture after he criticised officials for not being able to attract top notch players.

“We have signed serious quality players even in this season. They may not be performing to the level that we anticipated but we signed them,” Mr Mortagbe said.

Zakkour, whose tenure saw the Phobians winning the CAF Champions League, Super Cup and the league title in the year 2000, recently criticised officials of the Club for not doing much to bring on board quality Players to the team.

Mr Mortagbe, who says they have over the years signed quality Players like Silas Adjei, Gilbert Fiamenyo and recently Ezekiel Tetteh, has urged Mr. Zakkour to base his criticism on facts.

“You were all privy to the chase of Ezekiel Tetteh between Hearts of Oak and Kotoko. A year and a half ago, Fiamenyo was in the news, but we were able to sign them,” he said.

The Former League Champions have gone four seasons without the league diadem despite bringing in some top Players.

“I think that we should base these comments on facts rather than a conjecture so for me with all due respect to Mr. Zakkour, he should base whatever he is saying on facts rather than a blunt statement,” Mortagbe concluded.
