Total Petroleum Ghana to invest more in Ghana

The management of Total Petroleum Ghana Limited has stated that the company will invest 200 million cedis into retail, storage and aviation between 2014 and 2015.

Mr Guillaume Larroque, Managing Director of Total Petroleum Ghana noted that the company’s confidence in Ghana remain in all circumstances, with their investment programmes remaining unchanged as they see a strong mid-term prospect for Ghana.

He disclosed this during a corporate dinner in honor of the visiting Vice –President of Total Africa and Middle East.

He said the company did not hesitate to support its partners by arranging a financial package for the renewal of 50 trucks in 2013 to the tune of GHC30 million.

Mr Momar Nguer, Vice President for Total Africa and Middle East, emphasized that Ghanaians could count on Total to continue to invest in the Ghanaian.

He said the company had been deeply rooted in the economy for over fifty years, and intended to work for another fifty years, adding that, “we have employed three thousand people across the country.

He said as part of its newly brand service station renovation with different canopies project, which would be rolled across the world, one option was to import these canopies, since there were companies in the Europe that were able to manufacture them.

However, he said in Ghana, the company had decided to go a different way by supporting entrepreneurs to manufacture these canopies.

Mr Momar Nguer said the company would use the occasion to thank its staff and loyal customers for their invaluable contribution to making Total Ghana, reach the height it had attained to date.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he revealed that these entrepreneurs would need the technical knowledge, as well as an advance payment, so they could finance the supply of these canopies and added “Africa must develop and promote entrepreneurs”.
