Komla Dumor to be buried in family house

The remains of the late Komla Dumor would finally be laid to rest at a family house where his late mother was buried, according to XYZ News sources.

The funeral ceremonies for BBC TV presenter Komla Dumor, who died last month in London at the age of 41, begun on Friday at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Ghana.

The funeral service itself is taking place today at the forecourt of State House in the capital, Accra.

The family has been tightlipped on the location where the former BBC presenter would will be buried, but sources say he would be buried next to his late mother at their family house on Saturday.

Family, friends and specially invited guests from the world over, early Saturday began filing past the body to pay their last respect to him.

His death on 18th January after a heart attack at his London home prompted an outpouring of tributes from across the world.

His colleagues at the BBC have already held a memorial service for him in London, attended by his wife and three children, where BBC Africa's deputy editor Josephine Hazeley said he "represented all that is good in Africa".

Mr Dumor started his career out as traffic news reporter at the Joy FM station whilst a university student before climbing the ladder to host the station’s breakfast show.
