Kennedy Agyapong's motorbikes found

The much-talked about motorbikes which the outspoken Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong claims he gave to the party but which the National Chairman, Mr. Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey denied knowledge of, has finally been discovered.

The motorbikes, through impeccable source available to The Chronicle, were found in the possession of the Special Aide to the NPP National Chairman, Mr. Bryan Acheampong.

The items, which were donated to the party in 2012, through the instrumentality of the Assin Central MP, has recently been a source of controversy following revelations by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong that the motorbikes were not used for its intended purpose.

In one of his onslaughts against the current National Executives of the party, the controversial NPP legislator alleged that the incumbent executives were responsible for the mysterious disappearance of items he imported into the country to support the party’s campaign, citing specifically some motorbikes which he accused the executives of pilfering.

His allegations however, received instant reaction from the National Chairman of the party, Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey, who categorically denied any knowledge of the said items.

According to the national chairman, he was not aware of any motorbikes which Hon. Agyapong claims he had bought for the party. “I have not received any motorbikes or anything from Kennedy Agyapong”, Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey said in an interview.

But unfolding events appear to be contradicting Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey’s assertion, as information available to this paper indicates that the motorbikes were indeed brought into the country and handed over to the party.

The motorbikes, which were labeled ‘Patriots’, have been found in the possession of Bryan Acheampong.

A Businessman who facilitated the importation of the items has also confirmed to the paper in an exclusive interview that the items were indeed brought into the country and handed over to the party.

But Mr. Acheampong took on Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and dared him to prove his claims, warning further that he was ready to expose the Assin North MP.

But a close pal of the Assin North MP, who pleaded anonymity, says Bryan Acheampong, has bitten more than he can chew and that he was ready to expose various fraudulent deals embarked upon by the Special Aide to the NPP National Chairman.

When Mr. Bryan Acheampong was contacted via phone, he admitted that some motorbikes were given to him to distribute by the campaign team, but could not tell whether those bikes came from Kennedy Agyepong or not.

When asked the source of the motorbikes that had been parked in his house as captured by The Chronicle’s lenses, he told the reporter to go ahead with the story, and that he would also explain his position to the media.
