Ghana lose to Libya on penalties in CHAN final

Libya beat Ghana to win the Championship of African Nations Cup in South Africa.

Ghana and Libya played 90 minutes plus extra time to decide who wins the CHAN cup in a penalty shoot-out.

Ghana goalkeeper Adams saved two spot kicks from Mohamed Elgadi and Abdelsalam Omar after the first five kicks tied at 3-3 and sudden death penalties ensued.

Ahmed El Trbi scored the sixth penalty for Libya before Joshua Tijani missed his for Ghana, to spark celebrations from the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.

It is the third meeting of the two nations in a tournament introduced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in 2009 to boost players plying their trade in their respective countries.
